Public Consultation Choral Music and the Wider Music Sector

Location, Date & Time: Tullamore Library on Thursday April 26th at 6pm.

Offaly County Council is embarking on a public consultation process on the future shape, needs, direction and ambitions of the choral music sector in Offaly.

We are working in tandem with Westmeath County Council in this process with an overall aim to apply for funding to the Music Generation Scheme in 2012. Music Generation is Ireland’s new National Music Education Programme funded by U2 and The American Ireland Funds. The application process is on a competitive basis and if successful there will be opportunities for young people to be involved in a planned music education programme in Offaly and Westmeath.

With this in mind we are hoping to consult with you and/or your group. This process is open to anyone and everyone involved in music who would like to participate in the process including parents, music educators, teachers, musicians, young people and members of the community.

An open public consultation forum will take place in Tullamore Library on Thursday April 26th at 6pm. If you are unable to make this meeting, we would also be delighted to facilitate your group with an individual targeted focus meeting directly with your group. Please let us know your availability and we will arrange a suitable and convenient time for you.
